Candle "Letter Ї "

For me, this candle is special not only because it stands out from my dessert collection. It is different in meaning. Deeper and stronger.
Its pattern became for me the embodiment of our new story — a story that we continue to write every day.

In fact, the drawing took much longer than the idea of ​​creating the candle.

At the heart of the drawing is a pot from which the flower of our state is sprouting. This is a symbol of the grain that we were able to preserve, even when the soil was unfavorable. A symbol of quiet but stubborn germination after a long period of restrictions — and the first step towards freedom in 1991.

The first sprouts are our hope for flowering in the early 2000s.
Next are larger flowers with branches that never rose: lost opportunities, years when movement slowed down and much potential remained undiscovered in the 2010s.

In the center are twisted, tense shoots - the events that hardened us in 2014 gave impetus to new branches and buds that bloom in the shape of our coat of arms.

The upper pair of flowers is our present. The time when most people realized themselves as a nation in a state with very deep roots, the symbol of which is the trident 🔱.

So this candle is not only about the letter "Ї".
It is about the path. About fragility and strength. About freedom that does not come immediately, but always begins with a small spark.

The shape of this candle is the author's. It was born from my drawing and became another way to tell a story through symbols.

The idea of ​​making a symbolic candle has been in my mind for a long time. But for its clear image I want to thank Ivan Malkovich, whose poem finally drew this fragile form:

Although it may not be the most essential,
but you, child,
are called to protect with your little hands
the tiny candle of the letter "Ї"...

Today, "Ї" is no longer just a letter of the alphabet.
It is a sign of presence. A symbol of identity. A silent form of resistance. A letter without which the words "Київ" and "Україна" cannot be formed.

This candle is about light. About a language that warms.
About a culture that sprouts even in the darkness.
And about a fire that one wants to protect and carry to the next generations.
